Fractions Without the Freak Out! Hands On Ideas for Grades K–2

Fractions Without the Freak Out! Hands-On Ideas for Grades K–2

Fractions make more sense when students can see them, build them, and play with them! In this hands-on webinar, explore simple ways to help young learners understand equal parts, halves, thirds, and fourths. Discover how to connect fraction language to concrete experiences and adjust the same activities to support different learning needs.

Who should attend? K–2 teachers, math interventionists, and instructional support staff looking for engaging ways to build foundational fraction understanding.

You will learn how to:

  • Use hands-on activities to explore equal parts, halves, thirds, and fourths.
  • Connect fraction vocabulary to what students can see and touch.
  • Encourage students to build, take apart, and discuss fractions.
  • Adjust the fractions, support, and complexity within the same activity.

Leave with practical ideas that get students doing, talking, playing, and understanding fractions!

Please RSVP by the deadline to receive the Zoom link.
