Making Differentiation Manageable for Busy Teachers

Teachers know their students need different levels of support, practice, and challenge. The problem is finding the time to plan for all of those needs. Small Bites. Big Impact. is designed for busy teachers who want to differentiate instruction without adding hours of planning to an already full plate.

Educators receive access to 25 after school literacy and math webinars throughout the school year. Each focused session provides teachers with at least one practical activity they can use right away and shows them multiple ways to differentiate the content and process based on student needs. The same activity can be adapted for whole group instruction, small groups, or individual students, making differentiation more manageable without creating a different lesson for every learner.

Each webinar is just 30 minutes and focuses on practical strategies teachers can take directly into their classrooms. Teachers who cannot attend live will receive access to the recorded session, allowing them to learn when it works for their schedule.

A Sampling of Webinar Topics

Throughout the year, teachers will explore practical literacy and math topics such as:

  • Wait… What Is the Problem Asking? – Help students slow down, understand the story behind a word problem, identify what is being asked, and use clues to determine how to solve it.
  • Target Practice: Differentiate the Math, Not the Activity – Discover how one basic fact game can be differentiated by operation, target number, number range, skill level, and student need.
  • Ready, Set, Read! – Turn word recognition and fluency practice into engaging activities using movement, games, repeated reading, feedback, and reflection.
  • Fraction Action! Grades 3–6 – Move fraction practice beyond the worksheet with hands on strategies for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
  • Fractions Without the Freak Out! Grades K–2 – Help young learners see, build, explore, and understand equal parts, halves, thirds, and fourths.
  • I Spy an AHA! – Make informational text interactive as students search for text features, recognize text structures, and use clues to strengthen comprehension.
  • Don’t Quit Your Day Job! – Learn simple ways to differentiate reading instruction without creating more prep or a separate lesson for every student.
  • What Does THAT Word Mean? – Give students a repeatable strategy for using context clues to tackle unfamiliar vocabulary and become more independent readers.

The topics may change, but the approach stays the same: give teachers something practical they can learn quickly, differentiate multiple ways, and use with students right away.

Turn 30 Minutes of Learning Into 2 Hours of In Service Credit

Teachers can earn 2 hours of in service credit for each 30 minute webinar by spending an additional 1.5 hours implementing what they learned and reflecting on the experience.

For educators at accredited Florida schools, the webinars can support Reading and ESE recertification requirements.

Less time searching. Less time planning. More practical ways to differentiate and reach every learner.
